Greetings these pages provide links to The North East for Business, the Arts, and Tourism. The North East of England sits on the original line of Hadrian's Wall and at the end of the ancient Roman Empire. Northumbria holds a unique beauty which in most part lies undiscovered. It is a busy vibrant area with strong community links. There is a large quantity of good quality hotels and b+b accomodation.

From the 1800's to 2000 the area has displayed the highest growth and development. Innovation and industrial change are nothing new for the North East. It was one of the cradles of the industrial revolution, boasting major figures such as locomotive pioneer George Stephenson, the inventor of the steam turbine Charles Parsons and Joseph Swan who turned Mosley Street in Newcastle into the first street in the world to be lit by electricity. This growth continues through agencies such as The Northern Development Company, Tyne and Wear Development Company and now OneNorthEast. The local authorities are supporting the many millennium projects in the area which include Segedunum Roman Fort at Wallsend, Baltic Mills and Centre for Life at Newcastle.

In 1987 Hadrian's Wall and it's associated features were designated
a 'World Heritage Site'. Consequently the eastern terminus fort at Segedunum, Wallsend was excavated and these sections of the Wall must be considered as the most important historical monument to be found in the North in recent years, with both National and International significance.
